CHINA | URBAN (11)

Being an avid coffee drinker, it was hard for me to resist going cafe hopping despite being in China. Surprisngly,  there was actually a plethora of cafes and this does not even begin to scratch the surface. One thing I noticed, however, was the way that each shot of espresso would be accompanied with a cup of iced water as if I would make my own iced Americano. (I assume it's because most people in China don't need black coffee like me)

The first cafe we went to, as pictured above, had a very interesting interior design. It was a bit weird just because we sat on benches and stools that could have potentially given us a bunch of splinters. Their coffee wasn't all that great - extremely acidic and sour, and I'm not entirely sure if it came from the beans or from the method of extraction. We then headed to our second destination...

This cafe was definitely targetted towards a more westernized audience as it was situated in the middle of a big shopping mall that also had an Apple and Tesla store. It was completely filled so we couldn't find a place to sit down and take pictures - but trust me, it was good.

Afterwards, we just took a short walk around the mall and its surroundings which featured a really nice view of the skyline and an amphitheatre...
