Cactus Club Cafe - Jasper Avenue | 11130 Jasper Avenue

When my mom and I go out for lunch, we always order everything to share so that we get a bit of everything, and also feel quite full!

RAINCOAST GREENS | fresh greens, grilled chicken breast, avocado, tomatoes, feta, spicy pecans, egg, lemon-thyme vinaigrette

This was a HUGE salad - very filling and very flavourful! Lots of protein from the egg, chicken and avocado too, and relatively healthy in my opinion.

THAI RED CURRY PACIFIC LINGCOD | ocean wise line caught lingcod, thai red curry sauce, coconut almond rice, crispy wontons, micro cilantro
Although a bit on the pricey side, I highly recommend this dish to anyone who really wants a flavourful, delicious plate of food! The lingcod was cooked perfectly: crispy exterior, yet a soft interior. The curry was delicious and did not overpower the flavours of the fish, instead, it brought out its flavours. I also really enjoyed the curry sauce with the coconut almond rice - my first time eating coconut almond rice!

TUNA TATAKI | seared ocean wise albacore, papaya slaw, pine nuts, yuzu vinaigrette, micro cilantro
This dish had a very surprising, but delightful flavour combination. Having grown used to the traditional flavours of tataki at sushi restaurants, I was not expecting the punch of tartness that came from the vinaigrette. However, it worked very well with the natural flavours of the tuna.
