Top Ten Tuesday: Auto-Buy

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme held by The Broke and the Bookish. This week's topic is:

Top Ten Authors on my Auto-Buy List

I've only got a few that I truly trust so far, so in no particular order:

- John Green: I just effing love him is all.

- Kristin Hannah: I've only read one book by her, but it made me bawl like a baby.

- Gina Damico: Her books are just so hilarious, and they are very well written.

- Pittacus Lore: Or whoever is behind the genius creation of the I Am Number Four series. I think it's the only alien book I've read so far, and it's also one of my favourite series.

- Christopher Paolini: This guy, just.... wow. I'm planning to reread the series sometime this year. It'll take a while, but that's okay!!

- Sarah Dessen: Her contemporaries are just so beautiful and heart warming, I"ve loved all the books that I've read from her so far. (P.S. I somehow forgot her until Kristilyn mentioned it in the comments)

Sunday Update: Vlogs?

Sunday Update is where I link you up to last week's posts and also include a short message from me.

It is currently 12:40AM on Sunday and I completely forgot to type up this post. I've been putting.. everything..off because I wanted to study my history. Well, more like I HAD to.

I didn't get anything new this week because I really wanted to get around to my TBR pile. That's not going to go out too well because I promised my friend that I'd get started on the Percy Jackson series soon. Since I do have a short school week this week, I'm planning to get started this weekend.

Another thing I wanted to do was start doing vlogs, or just maybe some sort of video type thing. I could do discussions, or just personal things, maybe even review books through a video. It was just something I had in mind, but I'm not too sure if I want to set foot in that direction. What are your thoughts on it?

Happy reading!!

Top Ten Tuesday: Favourite Characters

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme held by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week's topic is:

Top Ten Characters in XXX Genre

I can't choose a specific genre, so I'm just going to pick my favourites characters. In no particular order:

- Clara Gardner from Cynthia Hand's Unearthly series. I just loved the way she progressed through the series.

- Lex Bartleby from Gina Damico's Croak series. She's sarcastic and kick ass, maybe even a bitch sometimes but I loved her.

- Six from Pittacus Lore's Lorien Legacies. Her powers are just so freaking awesome, and she's another kick-ass female as well.

- Katsa from Kristin Cashore's Graceling Realms. She may seem hard on the outside, but she's quite soft on the inside.

- Pretty much everyone from Sarah Dessen's books that was a protagonist. I loved all of them, well the one's I've read anyways.

- Tobias from Veronica Roth's Divergent series. I have no words, I just really love him.

- Augustus Waters from John Green's The Fault in Our Stars. Sweet, loving guy. With a love for metaphors.

- Jake from Moira Young's Dustlands series. Strong, brooding, just all together freaking SWOONWORTHY. But he's also very caring.

- Tucker from Cynthia Hand's Unearthly series. A:LDKFJS:LDKJ

- Po from Kristin Cashore's Graceling Realms. His Grace is awesome, and he cares so much about his family and friends.

Sunday Update: Long Weekend!!

Sunday Update is where I link up posts from the past week, new books I got, and also a little message from me.

  • Just One Day by Gayle Forman

What a week! I had two field trips and I still have quite a bit of catch up to do. Thursday was Valentine's Day, but all my friends were on a field trip so it kind of sucked. Also, on that same day, we had a fitness training class which I'm still sore from. Anyways, it's been an eventful week, but it's also been a really great week for me. I can't tell you why, it just has. :)

I haven't read a lot the past week, but I did end up finishing Execution -- LOVED IT -- and the review will be up this week. Since I have a long weekend (Family Day), I'll try to read a bit more. Although I have to study a bit of history for piano, otherwise I'm not going to be able to register for the exam. After Family Day, I've got 2 days of Health Days at school, so I have a lot of time to read because no homework will be assigned.

Happy reading everyone!

Much Love!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to say Happy Valentine's Day. I appreciate all the love you guys give my blog, and I hope everyone has a wonderful day with your significant others.. or maybe just your friends! Or if you're really not that into Valentine's day, just have fun reading a book, maybe even a romantic book! I love you all!

Sunday Update: Happy Chinese New Year!

This is where I link up posts from the past week, and also things to look forward to in the following week.

Talk about a creepy cover.

You might be wondering why the title of this is Happy New Year... well, it's because I'm Chinese. Today, is the start of Chinese New Year, yes, the start. Celebrations are probably a lot more festive in China, but for the most part, the last around 2 weeks. So yea, happy Chinese new year! :)

On Friday, my school had it's annual Social Dance competition. Basically, every year after our Christmas Break, we start a unit in Phys Ed. called Social Dance. After about a month of classes, we have the competition, where homerooms compete against each other. I know what I said about competition, but this one is just... different for some reason. It's kind of hard to explain, and also something that the "two sides" rule can be applied to.

We won and our reaction was as if we had won a million bucks. It felt awesome, and we got what we expected -- the rest of the grade 9 population hating us. We actually went up to people and said "good job", and just nice things, to which they retorted,"YOU GUYS SUCK". It's like this every year.

I actually still have a few library books to read, so I'm hoping to get to that soon. However, I want to finish Alexander Gordon Smith's Escape From Furnace series first -- it's so freaking awesome!! By the way, my review for Fugitives will be coming up this week.

As for the books from my public library, I started Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler. I think this one will win the award for "Leanne's first DNF". Holy crap, it's so freaking BORING. I read about 80 pages of it, and I absolutely could not stand it. The only thing I liked about it was the pictures.

One final thing, happy freaking birthday to Jenni from Alluring Reads -- who is also holding her blogoversary bash!! Go check it out and say happy birthday to her, and her blog, I guess. :)

I think that's about it for this week, happy reading!

Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Memories

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme held by The Broke and the Bookish. This week's topic is:

Top Ten Best Bookish Memories

I don't have many actually, just a couple that really stands out in mind. In no particular order:

1. Finding another Edmonton book blogger (Kristilyn and Jenni) and then having quite a few more join into our little group. It was a very exciting time to find others in a city that I thought was way too boring.

2. The Smart Chicks Kick It! Tour. That was just... amazing. Even though it was a very frustrating day, you can read about that here, it all paid off by the end of the day. It was also my first author event, since we don't get many in Edmonton anyways.

3. EBBD potluck was so fun. We talked over each other, like we always do, and had about 5 different conversations at the same time throughout the night. It's always nice talking to everyone!

4. The first book to make me sob since I started blogging was Night Road by Kristin Hannah. It was just so emotional!

5. Winning Die for Me and Until I Die by Amy Plum. This was about a month before I started my blog, and I was literally crying and jumping around.

Sunday Update: STRESSED

Sunday Update photo Sunday-Update.png

Sunday Update is where I inform you of upcoming events, or just what my life has been like, and also link up posts from the past week.

  • Fugitives by Alexander Smith

Guys and gals, I'm freaking out. As I'm typing this, I have just finished the entrance exam to Old Scona about 4 hours ago, and guess when I get to know whether or not I made it? April, FREAKING APRIL. That's 2 months away. See you in my corner where I'll be curled up in a fetal position, rocking back and forth.

Anyways, a lot has been going on, or will be going on, in my life besides the exam. I had to be the MC for an assembly and talked to myself for half an hour because I sounded too sarcastic. Also, in March, I'll be playing at the Night of Music in Edmonton. In April, I will be going to British Columbia for the BAND Kiwanis Festival, followed by my PIANO Kiwanis Festival in May. Afterwards, I have finals in June, summer school in July, and a piano exam in August. Can you kind of see why I'm stressed now?!

Oh yea, I got my immunizations and boosters on Thursday and my arms are still sore. Yes, ARMS. I had to get 3 needles, all of which actually hurt quite a bit. ):

Contrary to all that stress, SCARLET IS FREAKING COMING OUT IN TWO DAYS!! I'm so excited!! :) Although my TBR pile is growing, whoops. I've been reading a lot of library books for the past month, so it's good that I'm saving money.

Also, I'll be posting a photography wrap up and stuff as soon as I have time to make a post. Although, I kind of failed at it...

Happy reading, I hope everyone is more relaxed than me! :)
